Scott Campbell is returning to WildStorm Productions next summer, with Wildsiderz, a new five-issue mini-series. Campbell will write and draw the series, which will be co-written with Andy Hartnell, it was announced Friday morning at Wizard World Chicago. Here's how the book was described: "While it's too soon to say much, this five-issue mini-series stars an all-new team of teen heroes, whose computer-enhanced powers help them take on today's toughest real-world troubles." "It takes place in modern times, set against the backdrop of suburban high school," explained Campbell. "They're not mutants, they're not aliens. Their suits are wired up and they can project holograms and force fields, and they have animal-like extensions from their gauntlets." Campbell went on to say "I look at the project as I do popcorn summer movies, but it's not all fluff. I've taken the time to develop the personalities. You will care about these characters." "It lays a lot of seeds for a follow-up arc of another five issues that I hope to start immediately after the first one's wrapped up," Campbell said. "So if all goes correctly, there's at least 10 issues planned, a couple of them being double-sized and the first issue having extra pages." Campbell said this is the project of which he's most proud. "There's so much time that's gone into developing this idea and really conceptualizing it" posted by theanomaly at 20:20 | link | My Nigritude Ultramarine challenge page. posted by theanomaly at 20:15 | link | |
